A grand day out with the Red Arrows

September 23rd, 2011

It’s rare that we escape from the office for a day these days but a few of us made an exception when we were invited by one of our long-term suppliers and friend to visit the home of the Red Arrows (who happen to be one of ‘his’ clients). Our day with the Red Arrows included our own private display, lunch and debriefing with the pilots, a real treat ‘and’ a massive eye opener, what a fantastically dedicated and talented team! read more…

A quiet night out

August 26th, 2011

Thursday night and just over half the team ventured out into the wilds of downtown Milton Keynes to catch a burger and a movie, but not just any movie, it had to be the countrys latest block buster and ‘hilarious’ comedy “the Inbetweeners”. apparently the movie smashed UK records with £13m in the first weekend (2.5m on the first day). Not bad when you consider it is reported to have only cost 3.5m. (considered very low in the read more…

Our Man in Brazil, the epic trek

June 16th, 2009

A captivating diary report from our friend Andrew Bullock who treked across Brazil on behalf of UNICEF. Across the Bocaina National Park, from Sao Jose do Barreiro to Mambucaba – Angra dos Reis. This is a central route made in stones by the slaves at the end of the 18th Century, originally used by the Guaianazes Indians and later by troops leading donkeys filled with gold from the Minas Gerais, and coffee from the vale paraibano………….thats why its called “Trilha Do Ouro” or “The Gold Route”. read more…

freestone Build a Pixel Ski Park

December 16th, 2008

Towards the end of 2008 we found ourselves, not unusually, sitting in a pub - bemoaning the fact that very few of us would get the chance to go skiing in the upcoming months. Something clearly had to be done about this sad state of affairs. And done quickly. In fact, to coin a phrase, if we couldn’t get to the mountains, then the mountains would have to come to us - virtually of course!

The Boneshaker Arrives!

September 11th, 2008

Some of you will no doubt know that early in 2007 I decided to join the ever growing army of “grey bikers”… …although I must admit I caused my mother some concern ( yes even at my age) as when I phoned her and said I had joined the ever growing ranks of the grey bikers, she miss heard me and thought I said gay bikers, and asked me what about my wife and two children!!!! read more…

The short way round

May 30th, 2008

Our web blokes managed to convince me that some people may be interested in my recent motorcycling trips. I reckon they just needed some cannon fodder myself! If you’re quick you can backtrack now, however if you aren’t, you’ll need to increase your caffeine levels before you read on. Sorry - some of you may or may not be aware that I have had a bit of a thing for motorcycles.

freestone onAIR with Adobe

April 9th, 2008

As I write this article on the train home, you’d think that the last thing I’d want to do when I get back tonight is switch on my Mac and get stuck into some code. However, after spending the day at The Brewery in Chiswell Street (London) with some of Adobe’s top Product Developers and Platform Evangelists, I’ve been left with the ‘kid in a sweet shop’ feeling, and the best thing is, the sweets are all free.

Frankfurt Musik Messe 2008

March 24th, 2008

4 articulated lorries and our crew headed off for a week of sausage (oo er missus!) once again (I think that’s 15 years for some of us!) in early March, and after months of planning it was great to see the stands come to fruition for many of our clients on the MI side, including Korg, Vox, Line 6, SSL and Remo. read more…

Lotus Shoot – Lisbon Portugal

March 13th, 2008

“what a fantastic project to work on!” – was the first thought of our Art Director before he headed off for a week in Portugal, however His opinion might have changed after tackling snow and rock falls during the first two days, and then having the fuel drained from the car transporter in Lisbon! … all that said the trials and tribulations of the week’s shoot produced some fantastic imagery for the Lotus Elise and Exige…and at the end of the day it truly was a fantastic project to work on. read more…
