A lively start to the summer

The start of the summer has been an incredibly busy time for Freestone. The workloads have increased and our clients are continually calling for more creative to be . . well . . created. But the long hours and the countless cups of coffee and cans of diet cola, coupled with our existing clients telling their associates and competitors about how happy they are with our work, is starting to pay-off. Freestone are pleased to announce 5 new automotive brands including Skoda, Alfa Romeo and Land Rover have now joined our existing portfolio of clients. So a big welcome to the new clients and a big thank you to our existing clients for letting the world know how you feel about us. Examples of the work for our new clients as well as updated work of existing clients will follow - so check back again soon.

Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010

Another fantastic year with Mercedes-Benz at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (our 10th). A four month development and production project ended on 1st July with the opening of the Festival. Over 70 individual graphical panels were designed to create a continuos customer journey and brand experience throughout the stand. This included product (including smart), motorsport, collection, environment, classic, history and the launch of the new face lifted CL-Class. All panels were fitted to stand off the walls (to a precise plan) to give a floating effect. A team of four spent three days fitting the graphics and vinyls on site (in very hot weather)!!!!

Anybody struggling with putting together our fantastic but fiddly 2009 reindeer sleigh combo should really watch our very informative and Instructional Video, as you will see, ‘almost’ no expense was spared on the making of it.

You may be surprised to know, as a result, Ikea, habitat and the conran group are all thought to be considering using our talented presenters and camera man for their own instructional videos… so it’s Hollywood here we come….. all those years at RADA weren’t wasted after all!

Aston Martin Works Service campaign

Freestone is pleased to announce we have just completed a series of advertisements for Aston Martin Works Service, the Newport Pagnell based customer service, maintenance and restoration arm of the company. Each advertisement focuses on a different area of specialisation, but still outlines the company’s other core offerings. The advertisements will be displayed in various specialist motoring magazines over the next few months.

Yamaha Commercial Audio stand at PLASA September 2009

To demonstrate Yamaha’s range of High end Digital Audio mixers, freestone designed a bespoke stand for London PLASA Commercial Audio Exhibition 2009. The stand is designed to show how Yamaha’s range of mixing desks can connect to all of the industry standard digital audio networks. With fully working links from a central hub feeding realtime digital audio to Yamaha’s full range of Live concert and installation mixers. in short a whole bunch of wires going all over the place linking to boxes with lots of flashing lights.

Absolut Vodka - Rock Edition

Following the success of the recent spring launch of the Absolut London Ice Bar - London based PR agency Paget Baker chose freestone creative to help it launch the new limited edition Absolut ‘Rock Edition’ Vodka to the music press. The concept included protective display packaging in the style of a guitar amp that encased the limited edition bottle of vodka, along with a CD press pack and small book. freestone pulled out all the stops and the whole project was designed and delivered within a few days. The result has gone down a storm in the music world.

Gerard Donohue Associate Partner

Freestone Creative are proud to announce the promotion of one of their staff to Associate Partner.

Gerard Donohue began his career with Freestone as a reception/admin/dogs-body type person back in April 1993, who could answer a phone and operate the coffee machine very effectively. “Not quite” fresh out of university (but as good as) where he studied Social Sciences (he has never fully explained the qualification this gave him) - he saw the role as an opportunity to explore the creative world and hasn’t looked back since.

His first project was to create a groundbreaking (at the time anyway) database that listed all the digital artwork produced for one of Freestones largest clients at the time. This project was to become a full scale on-line Media Asset Management System that can be accessed by all the clients other suppliers and updates artwork instantly as it becomes live in the system.

Since then Gerard dabbled in a few other career options within Freestone. After a short spell in the studio he decided that was not for him (his one and only project was to update the printed directory for all ATM’s in the country for a major building society - Thanks guys!).

He then began work on the automotive accounts as an Account Executive for Mercedes-Benz. Building up his experience and knowledge of the account and the brand he soon became an expert in this field. Working on projects that range from design for print to POS to exhibitions to web site implementation.
