Another new kid on the block

Welcome Stacey Cooper, sorry that’s a bit cheesy. She becomes the newest member of the Freestone team, Her main role will be supporting our automotive team in their endeavors, She saw off the stiff competition in the last bout of interviews. Rather interestingly the Freestone rumor-mill supposedly said that we just liked her red hair - its not true I tell you! (Errr… Yes, we do like her red hair but that wasn’t the only reason.) Actually Stacey could possibly be one of the fastest, most enthusiastic individuals we have ever come across. pheww I think I got away with that one.

Skoda celebration book

Our good friends at Skoda commissioned Freestone Creative to create a coffee table picture book, an aide memoire in celebration of their amazing record breaking achievements at Bonneville . Using client supplied photography, which we have to say is rather special - the light over there is just fantastic, couple that with endless blue skies over miles of white salt and you have the recipe for some striking pictures. Bind this all together and the end result is a thread sewn, hard back book, add silk screened, foil and embossing, a hand made slip case and you have a very nice thing indeed.

Vox office branding

What could be described in the professional music industry as cult status, VOX are one of the world’s leading musical amplification brands. Numark mixing it up

Respected brand Numark entrusted Freestone to design and build their stand at the DJ show at NEC. The show is the world’s largest event dedicated to DJ, electronic music production and club culture event of its kind. It’s attended by DJs, producers, performers, promoters, venue owners/managers, equipment retailers/installers, record label representatives, students and many others who simply have an interest in DJing or electronic music.

Cygnet campaign takes flight

Working with our friends at Aston Martin we have created an interesting and bravely experimental campaign to help promote interest, awareness and future sales of their new baby; the amazing Aston Martin Cygnet luxury city car. The QR code when scanned takes you on to the Cygnet web site. These actions are monitored and measured to judge the campaign’s success. If you haven’t already seen one of these cars (they are rare and exclusive), be prepared to be impressed. In the metal they are very very special, the interior is just fantastic, a very nice place to be! Pop onto the site and spec your own Cygnet using the configure facility (inside and out)… but be careful… it eats time!

How cool is this. Voted coolest brand, long term client Aston Martin - first (again) just ‘pipping Apple’ no pun intended. Harley-Davidson romped in at third position - again a client. fourth on the list Rolex, fifth on the list and new to our client list Bang & Olufsen. Needless to say we are very proud. Stephen Cheliotis, chairman of the Cool Brands Expert Council, said: “Cool is subjective and personal. But being identified as a Cool Brand by the British public and a panel of influential opinion formers implies it is a brand that most Brits wish to own.

“Votes are based on a wide criteria of factors but these brands are clearly delivering cool in the eyes of consumers and influencers alike,” he said.

The survey was voted on by 2,000 people from a shortlist compiled by a panel of experts.

A grand day out with the Red Arrows

It’s rare that we escape from the office for a day these days but a few of us made an exception when we were invited by one of our long-term suppliers and friend to visit the home of the Red Arrows (who happen to be one of ‘his’ clients). Our day with the Red Arrows included our own private display, lunch and debriefing with the pilots, a real treat ‘and’ a massive eye opener, what a fantastically dedicated and talented team! We were all-the-more saddened to hear a couple of months later (20.08.11) that one of the Red Arrows crashed following a display at the Bournemouth Air Display, killing its pilot Flt Lt Egging (Red 4). Our thoughts are with his family and colleagues.

Goodwood Revival 2011

Working very closely with our friends at the Aston Martin Heritage Centre we have just completed the ‘Goodwood Revival 2011 project’. The objective: to raise awareness and make contact with potential new and existing customers. The event is always a massive sell out - and is regarded by many as THE Mecca for historic car owners and enthusiasts. Our involvement included: retro literature, special limited edition enamel badges, inquiry forms, windscreen spec panels,
banners, even the event name badges for the team on the stand, all in the spirit of the event. Initial signs are, their presence at the event appears to have been a huge success. (this will have been the first time they have exhibited at the Revival).

Here at freestone we have always had what might be regarded, as a slightly unhealthy appetite for our caffeine. Some of our visitors seemed to have picked up the addiction (easily done). We all appreciate a good cup of coffee in the morning this much is true. Account Director David Coleman (barista maestro) has of late raised the bar somewhat with his latte art, almost a shame to drink it really, almost. So next time you’re in be sure to ask for a ‘Coleman’ special.
